When I was a little girl in the Chicago area, it was always a treat to visit The Little Traveler. I then moved to Minneapolis, then to San Francisco, but I'd always come back to visit The Little Traveler. They always get things right!

I will never forget my visit to the Little Traveler in the summer of 1962. My mother and I stopped for shopping and lunch during a business trip with my father to Chicago. I remember the delicate sandwiches made with watercress served in the courtyard, and the beautiful suit, black and white tweed lined with green silk made by Ellen Tracy which my mother bought for me. I loved that suit, and the confidence I felt wearing it helped me win trophies in college debate tournaments the next school year. Moving from room to room filled with treasures was a delight, and I hope to return with my daughters and granddaughters someday.
