Brighton charm bracelets are even more charming now that the new holiday beads have arrived at The Little Traveler! You can add a festive flare to your own bracelet, or even create a whole new Christmas-themed jewelry piece to bring out at the holidays. These charming little beads also make lovely gifts.

As with all Brighton jewelry, these holiday charms are created through a multi-step process that begins with a designer’s hand sketch. Each piece is cast in solid brass or zinc alloy and is lavishly dipped in pure silver. Since silver has a natural tendency to tarnish (oxidize) and scratch, Brighton adds a protective layer of lacquer to assist in retarding this typical occurrence.

The Lazarus House in St. Charles, helps individuals living in poverty regain their dignity and become self sufficient members of our community by offering emergency shelter, transitional housing and outreach programs. In 2010, Lazarus House provided care to 331 individuals, served an average of 55 people per night, and provided 60,000 nourishing meals to those in need throughout the community. In addition, Lazarus House was able to assist several of its guests with their special needs, including: 83% with medical care, 88% to obtain or improve employment, and 87% to receive dental care.

What makes the Brighton collection so popular in our store is that is that each of their products have a defining detail that gives them special meaning. Whether it’s love notes engraved on a necklace or a handbag adorned with a treasured photo, Brighton products help create lasting memories.

Brighton was launched in 1991 with a single collection of belts. Over the years, Brighton has become an accessory company with something for everyone. Handbags and purses were added to the line in 1993, followed by small leather goods, watches, jewelry, charms, home accessories, eyewear and most recently, luggage.

A silver heart dangles from all Brighton handbags and purses and adorns many of the jewelry pieces and other products in the collection.

A host of artisans then capture all the detail and beauty of the original pencil drawing. The hand assembly of Brighton leather accessories – many of which are made of fine Italian leather – often requires as many as 140 individual manufacturing steps using up to 40 different parts. It is a decidedly traditional process that seems more in keeping with the Renaissance era than the high-tech 21st century.

Brighton Power of Pink

Each October, to recognize Breast Cancer Awareness month, Brighton designs an exclusive Power of Pink bracelet and donates $5 from the sale of each bracelet to breast cancer charities. Since 2003, Brighton has donated $3 million! The Little Traveler will donate an additional $5 per bracelet to the American Cancer Society’s “Making Strides Against Breast Cancer” fund, so for every bracelet purchased, $10 goes to the cause.

This unique silver bracelet declares “Love is all you need” because it is through the caring, giving spirit of Brighton customers that the company has been able to make a difference in raising awareness and funding research into cures for this disease that affects so many of the people we love. Organizations supported include: Susan G. Koman Foundation, The Breast Cancer Research Foundation, City of Hope, Nevada Cancer Institute, and local organizations across the U.S.

Our buyer Leslie Waterson took it upon herself to send a letter to Brighton nominating the Northern Illinois Food Bank as a beneficiary of the Brighton’s Feed Our Friends fundraiser. Her hard work and dedication paid off as NIFB has received a donation of $10,000 from Brighton! According to Brighton, “We selected Northern Illinois Food Bank from among hundreds of entries that we received because of the passion that The Little Traveler and it’s customers showed for the work their “hero” does in the community.”

We couldn’t be more proud of Leslie and all her hard work. Additionally, we are pleased to be affiliated with such a generous company and proud to have partnered with Brighton in being able to donate $10,000 to NIFB.
