Five Earth-Friendly Finds

April 21, 2021

We all know how important it is to be good stewards of the environment and that the little efforts we make can add up to make a BIG difference. In honor of Earth Day, we highlight 5 product lines from around the store that help us keep our Home Planet (and us) healthy.

1. E-Cloth Chemical-Free Cleaning

A Little Traveler staple. The fibers in e-Cloth wipes, towels, and scrubbers are precision engineered to work with water—JUST water—to remove dirt, grease, and over 99% of bacteria. No harsh chemicals necessary. All this without risk of scratches or residue. No more chemicals means healthier cleaning + cost savings and less waste since you no longer have to buy all those cleaning sprays or throw out the empties.

2. JusTea Organic Fair Trade Teas

NEW at the Traveler. Artisanal blends by JusTea are are cultivated using natural organic practices. These tea leaves are grown on small 1-3 acre farms in Kenya and are 100% pesticide free—no chemicals are ever sprayed on them. JusTea is the world's first farmer-direct tea, meaning it goes directly from the farm into production, providing you with a fresher tea, and the hardworking farmers with a higher wage. Try heir new-to-market purple tea with more antioxidants than green tea and only half the caffeine.

3. La Familia Green Eco-Friendly Greeting Cards

NEW at the Traveler. Our Stationery dept. is the new home of La Familia Green, one of the popular card collections from our longtime neighbor, The Paper Merchant. Vibrant artwork and down-to-earth sentiments aren't the only things to love about this collection. La Familia Green is an eco-conscious company that only uses envelopes made from recycled materials and prints its cards on FSC-certified paper sourced from sustainably managed forests.

4. Somewhat Organic Soaps & Moisturizers

A Little Traveler staple. The makers of Somewhat Organic know it's nearly impossible for any soap product to be 100% organic, so the name of the company is honest, just like its products. These soap makers do their best to use only organic ingredients and recycled/pre-cycled packaging. Their process starts with the highest quality certified organic oils. Somewhat Organic bar soaps, foaming hand soaps, body butter, and butter sticks are scented with natural essential oils, and all products are tinted using organic herb and plant extracts.

5. Muichic Tagua Jewelry

NEW at the Traveler. This bold jewelry collection is designed in Vermont and ethically handmade in Colombia using Tagua seeds and other natural materials. Tagua seeds are known as "vegetable ivory" because when dried, they resemble ivory in color, texture, and density. This makes them a sustainable alternative to elephant ivory. In addition, the commercial value of Tagua nuts, which grow on a type of palm tree found in the Amazon rainforest, gives farmers an incentive to keep the trees and preserve the forest. Muichic tagua jewelry is good for elephants, wonderful for the rainforest, and it looks GREAT on you.
