Candles from the Tree Farm

Believe it or not, the story behind these wonderful new candles in our Gift Gallery begins with...lobsters.

Angie and Tom Geary ran a thriving lobster business in Rhode Island. But in 1996, an oil spill changed everything, killing over 9 million lobsters and their business. So they went to plan B and planted a Christmas Tree farm.

After jumping many hurdles (like deer nibbling and weed management), their Bedrock Tree Farm was up and running. Then a new problem came to light—what do with all the freshly cut branches left behind after sending a happy customer off with their trimmed tree?

Luckily, Angie is an innovative woman. She figured out a way to grind the needles into a fine powder and create amazing-smelling candles. Bedrock Tree Farm’s spring line includes a candle that blends lavender essential oils with a fir needle soy base for a unique & pleasantly surprising scent.
