A Salon with Gertrude Stein

September 17 @ 9:00 am - 11:00 am

Registration for this event is closed.

Betsey Means portrays this American writer of novels, poetry, and plays. She eschewed the narrative, linear, and temporal conventions of 19th century literature and was a fervent collector of modern art. For some forty years, the Stein home at 27 Rue de Fleurs on the Left Bank of Paris was a renowned Saturday evening gathering place for artists and writers, most notably Pablo Picasso.

$30 ticket includes breakfast, program, and a shopping coupon good that day. Doors open at 9am, Fulton Street entrance.

Please Note: We do our best to seat groups together, but in some cases, groups of larger than 4 people may be seated at separate tables.

What to Expect at the Event

  1. Our morning will begin with a light breakfast at The Little Traveler. You'll either be seated in our Atrium Cafe or at a table in one of our departments where you can enjoy breakfast in the midst of our treasures. Please enter the store at our side entrance at Fulton Street—under the long yellow striped awning. Doors open at 9:00am. Tables are pre-assigned, so there is no need to arrive prior to doors opening.
  2. After breakfast, we'll all head across Fulton Street to St. Mark's Church for the performance. We'll notify your table when it's time to go and will escort you over. The walk is the equivalent of about half a block.
  3. After the show, we invite you back to The Little Traveler for shopping—we'll even give you a coupon.

This event has a 48-hour cancellation policy. To receive a full refund, you must notify Sandy or Sara in our Dress/Shoe Dept. of your cancellation at least 2 days prior to the event date.

IF YOU PURCHASE TICKETS VIA OUR WEBSITE, YOU WILL RECEIVE 3 SEPARATE E-MAILS FOR EACH TRANSACTION: The first will confirm your order; the second will be your tickets, the third will notify you when we've completed processing your order. YOU WILL ONLY BE CHARGED ONCE PER ORDER.
