Cal's Angels
Cal's Angels is a 501(c)(3) pediatric cancer foundation that grants wishes, raises awareness, and funds research to help kids who are fighting cancer. The foundation's purpose is to provide support and hope during one of the most difficult challenges a family can face.
In 2023, the foundation granted wishes to 220 children receiving cancer treatment. Cal's Angels also organizes many events and programs that support children with cancer as well as their parents and siblings, including hospital parties and comfort kits. Through its partnership with medical organizations, Cal's Angels helps fund important research related to the treatment of childhood cancer. Several events throughout the year help raise funds to support these efforts. The foundation also accepts direct donations and sells encouraging merchandise.
The foundation is named for Cal Sutter, a South Elgin Little League All-Star who in 2005 was diagnosed with Acute Myelogenous Leukemia at the age of 12. Throughout his treatment, Cal never lost hope and often displayed more concern for the well-being of other children fighting cancer than for himself. Although he ultimately lost his battle with Leukemia, his courage and compassion inspired the creation of Cal's All-Star Angel Foundation, Inc.—Cal's Angels.
