Air plants, also known as Tillandsia from the bromeliad family, don't need soil to grow. They can be set in small containers, making them perfect for fairy gardens or even just displaying on a small plate or stand. Air plants also look nice sitting on pieces of drift wood. Some will even grow a root system.
To care for your air plant, avoid exposure to bright lights and direct sunlight. Water twice weekly by misting or holding under running water. If the leaves start to curl, it may be a sign of dehydration. If this occurs, submerge the plant in water for ten minutes, then continue on your regular watering schedule.
